PHYSICAL MODELS
When you are intending to sell your property or just displaying the whole landscape of an area, physical models are one of the first things to catch a buyer/visitor's eye. We recreate the project from the architectural plans to any scale you want. It is an extremly labor intensive process where each piece is made by hand or machines. Working for PL Design and ZoomIN we have had several different projects and models to recreate, including Michael Hill's golf course, located in Arrowtown and it is New Zealand's most exclusive golf club; Te Arai Conservation Area in the North Island of New Zealand; Wyuna Preserved located in Otago between Queenstown and Glenorchy, south of New Zealand, and some other very exciting jobs. Please contact us for a FREE quoting and sicuss further details, we will be glad to assist you in your project. |

Q. What do you need to create a Physical Model? A. Basically all the Plans and Sections / Elevations. Depending on what scale we are going to build the model, we could need more details such as Materials and Colours. Also the Contour Lines and photos of the area are very important specially when building a landscape. Q. In which scales do you work? A. Usually for landscape as it is shown on the photo above, we work with 1:5000 to 1:10000, but that will depend on the dimensions of the land and how detailed you want the model to be. If we are building the model of a house of any other sort of building, then 1:100 to 1:50 are the most common scales used. Q. I am not sure which scale to use, how can you help us? A. Once we receive the files, we can assist you as much as possible to decide the scale and dimensions for the model. We wil create some drawings that helps you to visualize what you are going to get from us once the job is done. We will make sure you will receive what you are expecting of it. Q. How long does it take to finish a physical model? A. Physical models are very artistic and involves lots of craft and hand work in general. So it does take a little while. As you as we receive the Plans and decide the scale and dimensions. It could take even to a month to finish if it is a landscape. But there are cases when details are not so important that we take can up to one or two weeks to finish the whole model. It will depend on scale, dimensions and what sort of model you want: Landscape, House, etc.
